My thoughts don’t seem focused on anything big for very long these days, although there are MANY threads of thought weaving in and out of each other in my brain. Some of my wonderings i(some are prayer thoughts) nclude:
1. Who will be my teammate in hosting a Good News Club for neighborhood children?
2. When should we turn on the furnace for the winter? (Trying to hold off on that one as long as possible…)
3. Do we pay off the house or invest?
4. How can I be more faithful in prayer for all those people I love?
5. How can I better connect with SSHS moms who might desire to pray in a Moms in Touch group?
6. What is the most efficient way to get some form of fall house cleaning accomplished before the holidays?
7. Where did we stray from truth and honesty in the governing of this country and how do we get back there?
8. Why doesn’t someone see the positive qualities and abilities of several of my young adult friends who are job seeking?
9. Would anyone purchase one-of-a-kind jackets from an online business called “Just Jackets”?
10. Do I go visit that frail but recovering friend, which might tire her out, or do I send a card with a heart-felt note, which she can read over and over when she feels like it?
Question of the Day: What’s on YOUR mind?
There’s too much on my mind to write about here!! But I’m posting to respond to your question #4. I read an article just yesterday that talked about this and it had a creative solution. The gal had a prayer “scrapbook.” She had a photo album with pictures of her family & friends and prayed through the photo album. I’ll have to find the link for the article and get it to you. I thought it sounded like a great way to focus and be faithful in prayer. I’ll go look for that link now!

That didn’t take me as long as I thought it would. If that doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll get it to you some other way.
2. Sat. morning I gave in. But I think it only kicked on twice that whole day. Thinkin’ about having the fireplace cleaned.
5. Got some emails that might help. A few of my fellow CC parents. Let’s talk.
6. Let me know if you find out.
7. I think the question is will we ever get back there? Or were we ever really there??
10. I can only imagine a visit from my friend Amy would cheer anyone up and make their day!!
Well, at least I’m not the only one who has a lot on their mind!
I’ll be praying that He gives you the clarity that you need as you face decisions and toss big questions around.
I would buy a one of a kind jacket from a website called “just jackets.” One of a kind is just my style!
No offense to Gayla, but I’d send a card to your recovering friend, cuz not enough people send them anymore, and just as you said, it can be read over and over!
I’ve been thinking about a LOT of things this semester. Guys (you know which one in particular
), which assignment to DO next/which assignment is DUE next, whether to volunteer or continue to work at Pizza Hut next semester, which classes to take for the few I have a choice in (if I remember right, I only have six 3-hour ones left to take, and then I’m DONE!), what a tragedy it is when people suffer from disease, and whether one’s approach to a relationship with God is somewhat subjective.
Please update me on any of your 10 things’ outcomes as they come about.
My thoughts today …
1. Is it going to rain Saturday when Dale and I want to go on a color tour?
2. How about Wednesday when we are going to Battle Creek?
3. How bad will the stock market go today? (this has been a topic of conversation in the office … so I think about it … wish we could ignore it, but the problem won’t go away)
4. many others …..
Wow, Amy, this post has stimulted a lot of thinking, so I’ll add a few thoughts, too.
1. How much farther can I stretch the grocery dollars?
2. How does one define “tolerance”?
3. What will life we like when we’re empty nesters?
4. How soon are we going to have to start raking leaves?
5. How often am I hypocritical about my beliefs?
6. Have I prayed today for that friend who needs Jesus or simply judged his behavior?
7. How can I help that mom who’s on bed rest?
8. How is my family (extended) going to celebrate Christmas this year?
9. How much longer is the dog going to live?
10. Hurray, I get to have lunch with a good friend this week!
and so much more. Thanks for starting the conversation.
But Emily, perhaps you should think of it as more than just a visit. I had a Godmother that lived in another town when I was growing up that was ill for many years. She was embarrassed to tell her kids that she was nervous climbing on a step stool so when I came to visit I always changed her lightbulbs. The possibilities are endless when it comes to serving others!
Wow…I should ask questions more often!!! (Notice that the men did not weigh in on this conversation…Might have been the nature of the questions?)
Stacey–thanks for the link. I recommend that article to all! Almost makes me want to keep a small digital camera in my purse to be able to take pictures of people I promise to pray for.
Gayla and Emily–I think you’re both right about how I should minister to my friend.
Gayla–I think my approach to the fall cleaning is going to have to be to focus on one room/area at a time–if I deep clean one a week along with all the regular stuff, I think I can make it by Thanksgiving! Also, please feel free to send the MIT meeting info to any of your SS friends who you think might be interested….8:30-9:30AM on 1st and 3rd Mondays, 4-5PM on 2nd and 4th Mondays–in the FMC prayer chapel.
Diane–The forecast for here for the weekend sounds GREAT! Not so much on Wednesday, but…maybe it will be different in BC. I’m really glad you read here!
Emily–I’ll be praying for those decisions you mentioned…interested to hear more about your volunteering/work at PH dilemma. And, hurrah, there IS light at the end of your educational tunnel!
Nancy–Your list reminds me of how varied our lives are, how rich they are made through relationships, how much God wants us to live them from the inside out.
Thanks, Sisters, for chatting here over the recent hours…you’ve blessed and refreshed by simply connecting.
